What the NDIS Covers
The NDIS funds supports that help participants pursue their goals and live the life they choose. Social connection and community participation are core to this mission.
Depending on your plan, companionship services may be funded under:

Not all companions are registered NDIS providers. When using NDIS funding, look for:
NDIS registration (required if you're agency-managed)Relevant experience with disability supportClear communication about what the service includesProfessional conduct and adherence to NDIS Code of ConductBackground checks and verificationMany companions on Want Some Company carry NDIS verification badges on their profiles. You can filter by NDIS-registered providers when browsing.
Plan-Managed and Self-Managed Participants
If you're plan-managed or self-managed, you have more flexibility to use non-registered providers — which opens up a wider range of companions.
If you're agency-managed, your supports must come from NDIS-registered providers.
